Vajrasana, also known as the Diamond Pose, is one of the simplest yet most powerful seated yoga postures for improving digestion, calming the mind, and strengthening the lower body. This beginner-friendly pose can be practiced by people of almost all age groups and is especially beneficial after meals. Step-by-Step Practice Guide to Perform Vajrasana
- Sit on the floor with your legs stretched forward in Dandasana.
- Inhale gently and fold your right leg, bringing the right foot under your right buttock.
- Repeat the same with your left leg, placing the left foot under the left buttock.
- Position both knees together and sit back on your heels with the soles touching your buttocks.
- Place both hands on your knees, keep your spine straight, and either close your eyes or fix your gaze on a single point.
- Take slow, deep breaths while holding the posture for a few minutes.
- To release, exhale and gently bring both legs forward to return to Dandasana.
- Relax and repeat 3 to 4 times if comfortable.
