How to Do Samakonasana (Straight Angle Pose)

Samakonasana, also known as Straight Angle Pose, is an advanced yoga posture that improves flexibility, stretches the legs and hips, and enhances body balance.

Steps to Perform Samakonasana

  1. Sit comfortably in Sukhasana (Easy Pose) and take a few deep breaths to relax the body.

  2. Slowly open and stretch both legs sideways until they begin forming a straight line.

  3. Gradually increase the distance between the legs according to your flexibility.

  4. Gently lower the body toward the floor while keeping both legs fully stretched on either side.

  5. In the final position, keep the spine straight, look forward, and place both hands in Namaskar Mudra (Prayer Position).

  6. Breathe deeply and hold the posture comfortably for a few seconds.

  7. Slowly bend both legs inward toward the buttocks.
