How to Do Naukasana (Boat Pose)
Naukasana (Boat Pose) is a popular yoga posture that helps strengthen the core muscles, improve balance, and enhance spinal flexibility.
Steps to Perform Naukasana
- Sit in Sukhasana (Easy Pose) or a comfortable cross-legged position.
- Slowly inhale and extend both legs straight in front of your body.
- Raise both arms overhead while inhaling.
- As you exhale, stretch your arms forward to shoulder level.
- Simultaneously lift both legs without bending the knees, forming a 45°-60° angle with the floor.
- Balance your body on your buttocks while keeping the spine slightly curved forward.
- Keep both arms parallel to the floor, with the hands reaching toward the knees.
- Focus your gaze on your palms and engage the core muscles.
- Feel the stretch and contraction in the abdomen, thighs, and lower back.
- Breathe normally and hold the posture for a few breaths.
- Exhale slowly and lower the arms and legs back to the floor.
- Relax in Dandasana (Staff Pose) and repeat the posture 3-4 times.
