How to Do Muktasana (Liberated Pose)
Muktasana (Liberated Pose) is a simple seated meditation posture that helps improve concentration, promote mental relaxation, and support overall well-being. It is commonly practiced during meditation and pranayama sessions.
Steps to Perform Muktasana
- Sit comfortably in Dandasana (Staff Pose) with your legs extended straight in front of you.
- Gently straighten your spine and relax your shoulders.
- Inhale deeply and slowly bend one leg, placing the foot comfortably on the opposite thigh or in the space between the opposite thigh and calf.
- Bend the other leg and place it in a similar position, ensuring both legs are comfortable and balanced.
- Rest your hands on your knees in Gyan Mudra (Gesture of Knowledge).
- Keep your spine erect, close your eyes, and focus your attention on the space between your eyebrows (Ajna Chakra).
- Breathe slowly and naturally while maintaining the posture.
- Hold the pose for a comfortable duration.
- Exhale gently, release the legs one at a time, and return to Dandasana.
- Relax and repeat the asana 3-4 times if desired.
