What is Mahavedha Mudra?
Mahavedha Mudra, also known as the "Great Penetrating Gesture," is a powerful yogic practice that awakens the Kundalini energy and enhances spiritual growth. This advanced mudra helps in balancing prana (life force) and apana energies through the Sushumna Nadi, supporting higher meditation, hormonal balance, and overall wellness.
How to Perform Mahavedha Mudra
- Sit comfortably on the floor in a meditation pose (Dhyanatmakasana) such as Padmasana or Sukhasana.
- Take a few deep, steady breaths to center yourself and normalize your breathing.
- Place your palms on the floor beside your thighs, fingers pointing forward, and make fists with knuckles facing down.
- Inhale deeply and perform Jalandhara Bandha (throat lock).
- Lift your body by placing your weight on your hands and straightening your arms.
- Gently lower your buttocks to the ground three times, keeping your focus on the Mooladhara Chakra (root energy center).
- Maintain a straight spine throughout the mudra.
- Slowly rest your buttocks on the floor and release Jalandhara Bandha.
