How to Use Padmaka for Skin:

  • Bark, seeds, and sometimes heartwood can be helpful to treat skin conditions.

  • Applying powder externally can improve the tone of the skin on the face.

  • Benefits for Skin:

  • Padmaka is helpful in treating skin disorders and excessive sweating, as it has cold potency and astringent taste.

  • Padmaka contains prunetin, which fights both gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria, so it is effective in treating skin infections as well as acne.

  • Padmaka is also beneficial in fungal infections and wound healing.


  • Risks and side effects:

  • Padmaka has no or very few side effects when applied externally, so it may be applied to the skin without hesitation in the recommended dose.

  • When taken internally padmaka is rarely associated with side effects such as fever and diarrhea.


  • Face packs:

  • Mix padmaka bark powder, licorice root powder, honey and apply to dry and clogged pores to moisturize the skin.
