What is Insomnia?

  • It is a sleep disorder where an individual cannot sleep at night.

  • An interrupted sleep or less than 2-3 hours sleep is also needed to treat.


  • Causes of Insomnia

  • Anxiety.

  • Pending works in mind.

  • Diseases, related to stomach or GI tract.

  • Hormonal imbalance.

  • Caffeine, alcohol, or other drug consumption.

  • Body ache, arthritic pain, or pain of any body parts.

  • Home Remedies for Insomnia

  • Mix a teaspoon of Honey (shahad) in a glass of Celery juice and drink it every night before going to bed.

  • Grind some fried Cumin (jeera) seeds to a fine powder and mix them with the pulp of a ripe Banana. Eat this at night.

  • Add Lettuce seeds in boiled water and drink.

  • Mix equal quantities of Sesame (til) oil and Bottle gourd juice (lauki) and massage this mixture on the scalp every night.

  • Consume salad of raw Onions (pyaz) regularly.

  • Eat three cups of Curd (dahi) every day.

  • Drink the milk extracted from Poppy seeds every day at night after having dinner.

  • Drink a cup of milk with honey every day.

  • Take Rosewater (gulab jal), add one drop of ghee and rinse the eyes with that water at bedtime.

  • Take a glass of warm milk and add some Nutmeg (jayfal), Cardamom (elaichi) and dried Ginger (adrak) to it and consume it.


  • Helpful Tips for Insomnia

  • Avoid pending works.

  • Use bedding and other belongings according to your body type and age.

  • Take aromatherapy with your favorite oil.

  • Take a shower before bed.

  • Wear comfortable cloth at night.

  • Take appropriate meals at night according to appetite.

  • Take buffelo’s ghee with buffelo’s warm milk at night.
