Hair loss, thinning hair, or baldness is termed Alopecia. Alopecia areata means "Hair loss in areas".
50-75 hair loss in no-wash day and up to 130 in wash day is normal. But when new growth of hair is hampered, it shows more hair loss.
Causes of Hair Loss
Genetic factors.
Family history.
The overall aging process.
Normal life variations including temporary severe stress, weather, water, and others.
Chronic or acute illness.
Nutritional changes.
Hormonal changes like those in pregnancy, puberty, and menopause may cause reversible hair loss.
Home Remedies for Hair Loss
Apply Almond (badam) oil daily.
Apply oil of Liquorice (mulethi) on hair.
Apply lemon oil on hair before hair wash.
Apply oil obtained from the fruit of Neem.
Chop some onions (pyaz) into fine pieces and squeeze out the juice. Apply this to hair and scalp, and leave it for 15 minutes. Rinse it with shampoo.
Crush a few cloves of Garlic (lehsun), add in a little coconut oil, and boil for a few minutes. Cool it till it becomes warm and apply it on the scalp with a little massaging action. Repeat two to three times a week for best results.
Take coconut milk and add a little water to it. Apply this to the scalp and allow it to stay overnight. Rinse this the next morning.
Add two teaspoons of Amla juice/powder and mix with an equal quantity of freshly squeezed lime juice. Mix well, apply to the scalp and leave it to dry, then rinse using warm water.
Take some flowers of rose (Gulab) add some water to it and make a paste. Apply it on hair and keep it for an hour and then wash the hair.
Haircare Tips for Hair Loss
Use appropriate shampoo, oil, and other cosmetics according to the skin type and season.
Always wash oiled hair.
Don’t comb wet hair.
Comb the hair from the end/ lower part.
Don’t shampoo so much time in a week (5-6 times or more).
Use unprocessed or unfiltered oil for oiling. (use a cold pressor or traditionally derived oil).
Don’t change oil and shampoo frequently.
Include Shatavari (asparagus recemosus), amla, Triphala, and cow ghee in the diet.
