What is Diabetes (Mellitus)?

It is a metabolic disorder in which the body's ability to produce any or enough insulin decreases. This leads to elevated levels of glucose in the blood.

Symptoms of Diabetes

  • Excessive food intake.

  • Excessive thirst.

  • Frequent micturition.

  • Non-healing wound.

  • Buring sensations all over the body.

  • Weight loss sometimes.

  • Frequent urine infections.

  • Risk factors

  • Family history.

  • Associated with other diseases like hypertension, etc.

  • Children age between 4-14 years of age.

  • Blood sugar levels fluctuate.

  • Home Remedies For Diabetes (Consult your physician before use and always monitor your sugar regularly)

  • Take 2-3 Indian Gooseberries (amla) remove their seed and grind it into a fine paste. Squeeze the juice from the paste. Mix two tablespoons of juice in a cup of water and drink it daily in the morning, empty stomach.

  • Eat 2-3 whole leaves of Basil (tulsi) daily in the morning on an empty stomach.

  • Chew ten fresh Curry leaves (neem) daily in the morning.

  • Mix one teaspoon Cinnamon (Dalchini) in a cup of warm water and drink it daily. OR you can swallow a pinch of cinnamon with warm water every day.

  • Drink half a glass of bitter gourd juice (karela) on an empty stomach each morning. For this remove seeds from two to three bitter gourds and use a juicer to extract the juice. Add some water and then drink it. continue treatment for at least two months. You can also include bitter gourd daily in your diet.

  • Soak two tablespoons of fenugreek seeds in water overnight and drink it the next morning, empty stomach. Follow this routine for a few months. Or eat two tablespoons of powdered fenugreek seeds daily with milk.

  • Powder of dried seeds of Indian Balck Berry (Jamun) fruit and eat this powder with water twice a day.

  • Soak 10-15 tender mango leaves in a glass of water overnight. Filter it in the morning and take it empty stomach.

  • Use Turmeric (Haldi) in food.

  • Take amla powder, turmeric powder with hot water on an empty stomach in the morning is beneficial.

  • Food and Regimen for Diabetes

  • If the weight of the patient is continuously decreasing, take wholesome food, use cow ghee in the diet, and avoid taking any sugary things.

  • Take alternatives of sugar like honey, fruits like amla, pomegranate, and lime are beneficial.

  • Avoid taking food like curd, jaggery, sugar, meat, and other heavy foods, like dairy items, sugarcane, bakery items, etc.

  • Physical exercise, walking, running, and other activities are beneficial.

  • Take a light meal in short-short duration, avoid taking so much food at a time.

  • Take roasted chickpea, chickpea flour in the diet and ragi are also beneficial.

  • Stress is also a major factor in diabetes, so it is advised to calm the mind and do such activities.
