Chilblains are abnormal skin reactions to the extreme cold surroundings following the warm one, which produces inflammations, redness to dark bluish discoloration, and bleeding sometimes.
Causes of Chilblains
Exposure of skin in extreme cold.
Tight clothing in cold.
Poor circulations.
Circulatory diseases.
Raynaud's disease.
Lupus disease.
Autoimmune disorders.
Symptoms of Chilblains
Strong itching.
Burning sensation.
Redness on the affected area.
Pain.
Skin in the affected area turns red to dark blue, followed by inflammation.
Inflammation.
Dryness.

Severe pain.

Keep the body hydrated and adequately warm.
Avoid smoking and alcohol consumption.
Cover nose, eyes, and feet with clothes.
Avoid sudden temperature differences.
Wear warm and loose socks, gloves, and clothes.
Keep hands, face, and feet dry.
Home Remedies For Chilblains
Sarshapa taila (mustard oil) application twice a day is beneficial in chilblains.
Add ginger powder in warm water (not hot), soak feet and hands, it helps to reduce chilblains.
Applying aloe vera pulp to the affected area is also beneficial.
Grate the whole potato apply to the skin, it soothes the affected area and reduces inflammations too.
Thyme oil with a carrier oil is also beneficial for external application.
Slice an onion, apply to the affected area, it reduces the inflammations. (apply only in entire skin, not apply to the cracked skin)
Take sandalwood powder, and rose petals, apply them to the affected area.
In cracked skin areas, apply honey and licorice powder paste, it heals quickly, and reduces pain as well.
Take a wholesome and calcium-rich diet, do exercise regularly.
