Ingredients :

  • Laja/puffed paddy - 1/2 kg.

  • Sugar candy - 1/2 kg.

  • Ginger - 50 gm.

  • Ghee (preferably cow) - 25 ml.

  • Total quantity - 500 to 600 gm.


  • How to prepare :

  • Take a pan, add ghee and fry finely chopped ginger.

  • Prepare sugar candy syrup. For consistency check, the syrup should be unbroken strands between fingers.

  • Add powdered puffed paddy and ginger to the syrup and stir well.


  • Benefits :

    Reasonable amount of protein and iron helps for people having weak digestive power.
    Relieves morning sickness in pregnancy and combats chemotherapy associated nausea.
    Ginger can reduce pain and stiffness in osteoarthritis or rheumatoid arthritis.


    Contradictions :

    High in refined carbohydrate, thus not recommended for diabetics, cardiac patients or in obesity.
