Ingredients :

  • Fresh Rose Flowers - 35 to 40. (Damascus roses are used for making Gulkand)

  • Sugar - 3/4 cup.

  • Honey - 2 tablespoons.

  • Cardamom Powder - 1 teaspoon.

  • Total servings - 1/2 cup.

  • How to prepare :

  • Gently wash the separated rose petals and dry them on a paper or clean cloth in the shade.

  • Shred the petals into the mixie jar or you can also chop them into small pieces.

  • Take a clean dry glass jar and add the rose petals and sugar in layers. Repeat till the petals and sugar is over.

  • Now, sprinkle the crushed cardamom and add honey over the top layer.

  • Close the jar with a lid and keep it in the sunlight for 7 to 10 days.

  • Every day you have to mix gulkand with a clean and dry spoon. After 10 days, gulkand is ready to eat.

  • Note :

    This homemade gulkand can be stored in the refrigerator for about six months.
