Ayurvedic Recipes >> Gulkand (Rose Petal Jam)
Ingredients :
Rose petals - 250 gm.
Sugar - 250 gm.
Total quantity - 450 to 500 gm.
How to prepare :
Collect fresh desi rose petals, wash them thoroughly, and dry them.
Mix the finely chopped rose petals with sugar in an airtight container.
Keep the jar in sunlight for 2 to 3 weeks. Stir well every day with a clean dry spoon.
For adults take 2 to 3 tablespoons of gulkand, it may be blended in milk to make a cooling drink.
Benefits :
Improves digestion, and the health of gut flora and intestinal mucus.
Reduces hyperacidity and is thus useful in peptic ulcers and mouth ulcers.
Pregnant women and kids can consume to relieve constipation.
Helps in controlling various skin issues like pimples, boils, and blemishes.
Helps in reducing edema or patients having water retention due to various reasons.
Contradictions :
Diabetes people should avoid this food, whereas obese people may take it in small quantities as it contains sugar.
