Ingredients :

  • Indian gooseberry - 1/2 kg.

  • Gingelly oil - 30 ml.

  • Curry leaves - 50 gm.

  • Black pepper - 5 gm (or as required).

  • Turmeric powder - 3 gm.

  • Salt - 5 gm.

  • Total quantity - 300 gm.


  • How to prepare :

  • Wash the gooseberries thoroughly, dry well, remove the seeds and cut them into pieces.

  • Take an iron pan, pour enough gingelly oil and stir fry the gooseberries.

  • Add curry leaves, black pepper powder, turmeric powder, salt to the fried gooseberries and mix well.

  • To have a unique taste, asafoetida powder (hing) can also be added.



  • Benefits :

    The high fibre content in amla helps to relieve constipation.
    Supports liver function and improves eyesight.
    Chromium present in Amla reduces bad cholesterol, stimulates insulin production, hence reduces blood glucose level in diabetics.
