How to Use Tea Tree Essential Oil for Hair

  • Add 8 to 10 drops of tea tree oil to 250 ml of your shampoo and massage this mixture to the scalp. Let it sit for 3 to 5 minutes and rinsing off thoroughly.

  • Take 250 ml of any carrier oil (almond, olive, and jojoba) and add 10 to 15 drops of tea tree oil to it. Massage this oil evenly onto the scalp and leave it overnight and wash with mild shampoo in the morning.

  • Mix 8-10 drops of tea tree oil to 1-2 tablespoons of unrefined coconut oil. Massage it over the scalp and leave it for 30-60 minutes or overnight. Later wash your hair as usual.

  • Mix a tablespoon of olive oil, three drops of tea tree, and peppermint oil to a cup of warm water. Massage it to the scalp and allow it to sit for 30-60 minutes. Rinse it off with water or shampoo.

  • Antifungal properties in tea tree oil can help treat dandruff accompanied by itching. This oil helps hair follicles free from build-up dandruff and control excess oil production by the glands.

  • Inflammation and scratching the scalp lead to breakage and hair loss. Tea tree oil is effective in soothing the scalp and prevent excessive hair fall. Tea tree oil addresses two conditions like blockage of hair follicles and weak hair roots.

  • Regular application of Tea tree oil prevents excess oil production, improves blood flow, and allows nutrients to reach hair follicles. It balances the ph level of the scalp and helps to grow strong and healthy hair.

  • Mix 8-10 drops of tea tree oil in 3-4 tablespoons of vegetable oil or olive oil. Massage this mixture over the scalp and let it sit for 2 hours. Now comb the hair using the nit comb and rinse. It helps to treat head lice effectively.

  • Paronychia (nail infection) or athlete’s foot: Application with the carrier oil at the affected area is beneficial as an antiseptic and good proliferation for healing.

  • For acne: Apply tea tree oil in two parts and carrier oil in one part, apply to the acne and scar of the acne, it removes them.

  • For herpes: Irritated skin by the infections like herpes, is beneficial for the prevention of further infection and relieves irritation.

  • For stye: Cotton dipped with a few drops of tea tree oil with a carrier oil is applied for relieving the pain and inflammation. (application is done under observation).
