How to Use Dry Ginger for Intestinal Worms

Intestinal worms can cause digestive discomfort, poor appetite, stomach pain, and nutritional deficiencies in both adults and children. Dry ginger (also known as Sonth or Sukku) has traditionally been used in natural remedies to support digestive health and help manage intestinal worms. Below are some commonly used home remedies and important precautions for using dry ginger as a natural deworming aid.

  • Mix ¼ teaspoon dry ginger powder, ¼ teaspoon long pepper (Piper longum) powder and ¼ teaspoon ajwain (carom seeds) powder. Take this mixture twice daily before meals with honey or jaggery. This traditional remedy is believed to help support natural deworming in adults.

  • Mix 1-2 pinches of dry ginger powder with 1 teaspoon of coconut oil. Give it with warm water before bedtime. This remedy is traditionally used to help manage intestinal worms in children.

  • Take a small piece of dry ginger along with a pinch of black salt and asafoetida (hing) on an empty stomach before breakfast. Drink warm water afterward. This traditional remedy is believed to help eliminate stomach worms, reduce digestive discomfort, and improve gut health.

  • Mix ½ teaspoon dry ginger powder and ½ teaspoon jaggery. Take this mixture with warm water in the morning. This traditional preparation is often used to support natural deworming in children.
