How to Use Asafoetida (Hing) for Deworming Naturally

Asafoetida, commonly known as Hing, is a traditional natural remedy used to help manage intestinal worms and support digestive health. Its antimicrobial and digestive properties may help reduce worm infestation naturally in both children and adults.

  • Take a pinch of asafoetida (hing) powder with water early in the morning on an empty stomach. This remedy is traditionally considered beneficial for children to help eliminate intestinal worms.

  • Mix a pinch of asafoetida powder in warm mustard oil and add a small pinch of rock salt. Consume this mixture at night before bedtime to support deworming in adults.

  • Giving a small amount of asafoetida powder mixed with honey or sugar may help younger babies in the expulsion of worms. Use only in very small quantities and with proper guidance.

  • Add a pinch of asafoetida powder and black pepper powder to warm water and let it steep for about 1 hour. Drink this water every morning for one week. This remedy may help remove intestinal worms and reduce the risk of further worm infestation.

  • Precautions and Recommended Diet

  • While using asafoetida, avoid consuming excessive sulfur-rich foods such as onion, garlic, and cabbage, as hing itself contains sulfur compounds.

  • Excessive intake of asafoetida may cause diarrhea, stomach upset, acidity, or heartburn.

  • Avoid consuming asafoetida in large quantities during hot weather, as it is considered hot in potency according to traditional practices.

  • Follow a light, warm, and freshly prepared diet that includes green gram, rice, amla, bitter gourd, bottle gourd, and other easy-to-digest foods to support digestive health during deworming.
