How to Use Amla for Skincare

  • Take amla powder internally, or one raw amla per day is effective for skin.

  • Mix its juice with medicinal plant powder like lodhra(Symplocos recemosa), arjuna (Terminalia arjuna), licorice root, etc.

  • For external application mix Amla with rose water for oily skin, with honey for dry skin, and with multani mitti and turmeric for acne.

  • Amla protects the skin from ultra-violate rays.

  • Vitamin C in it helps to rejuvenate the skin and protect it from aging.

  • A protein called collagen, in Amla is useful in skin firmness.

  • The anti-inflammatory property in it is useful for skincare and fights acne.


  • Risk and side effects:

  • Generally, amla powder or juice has no side effects or other reactions on the skin.

  • But, overuse or prolonged retention on the skin may lead to dry skin.

  • Very rare people have side-effects of amla but apply wisely who has a skin allergy.


  • Face pack preparations:

  • Dry skin: Take amla powder, and amla juice together with honey and sesame oil, apply for the dry and peel off the skin.

  • Oily skin: Make a paste of rose petals, papaya pulp, and amla powder, apply to the oily and tanned skin.

  • For acne: Add turmeric, licorice root, pipal bark, and amla juice/paste to acne-prone areas on the face and back.
