Home Remedies of SandalWood

  • To cure allergic rashes, take equal quantities of Sandal Wood powder and giloy (Tinospora Cordifolia) in a form of paste and apply externally.

  • Take a decoction of Sandal Wood powder along with milk is taken internally to counteract menstrual problems.

  • For curing spermatorrhoea infuse 1 teaspoon of Sandal Wood powder, a teaspoon of sadad tree(Terminalia arjuna) bark powder along with hot milk or water, add a sip of honey, and drink 1 to 2 times daily.

  • To relieve from hiccups, make a paste of Sandal Wood powder with cow milk and squeeze the liquid in the nose drop-wise.

  • For relief from poison, apply a paste of Sandal Wood powder on the chest region.

  • The decoction of Sandal Wood is used as an eyewash, it acts as an effective treatment for conjunctivitis.

  • Take Sandal Wood powder in rice water, mix it with a little amount of sugar or honey and take it internally for curing burning sensations on the body.

  • For curing nausea and vomiting, take a teaspoon of amla (Emblica Officinalis) and Sandal Wood along with warm water.

  • To reduce nose bleeding, snuff a little amount of Sandal Wood powder.

  • For conditioning of dry hair, add a few drops of Sandal Wood oil to hair after a shower or during the day. It can help restore moisture to hair and give hair a soft shine.

  • To get a fair complexion mix 1 spoon of Sandal Wood powder and 1 spoon of almond powder with milk and apply on the face and neck.

  • To reduce acne and acne scars, mix equal portions of Sandal Wood powder, coconut oil, and lime juice and apply it to affected parts. Leave it overnight and wash it off with cold water.

  • To relieve headache and reduce the temperature, take a few Tulasi leaves and add 2 teaspoons of Sandal Wood powder, apply on forehead and temples.

  • Dab a mixture of Sandal Wood, turmeric, and lavender oil on insect bites for immediate relief from swelling and itchiness.

  • To cure eczema, add a teaspoon of Sandal Wood powder and a teaspoon of camphor to rose water to paste and apply it to the affected parts of the skin.

  • Make a mixture of Sandal Wood powder, glycerin, and rose water and apply it to the face daily for about 20 minutes and the wrinkles will disappear.

  • To relieve allergies, take a teaspoon of lime juice mixed with Sandal Wood powder.


  • Sandalwood Oil

  • For conditioning of dry hair, add a few drops of Sandal Wood oil to hair after a shower or during the day. It can help restore moisture to hair and give hair a soft shine.

  • For dry skin acne - application of the sandalwood oil with warm water-dipped cotton is beneficial.

  • For sleep - massage with the sandalwood oil beneficial as a sleep inducer.

  • Menopausal hot flashes - inhalation of sandalwood oil is beneficial for the hormonal imbalance and reduces hot flashes.


  • Decoction Sandalwood

  • Take a decoction of Sandal Wood powder along with milk is taken internally to counteract menstrual problems.

  • For leucorrhea - decoction of red sandalwood is taken internally10-20 ml once the day is beneficial.

  • In the ulcers - red sandalwood decoction is beneficial for gastrointestinal problems like hyperacidity, and ulcers.

  • In burning sensations whole body - decoction with raw sugar is beneficial.

  • For kidney functions - red sandalwood/leaves decoction 10-20 ml an alternate day is useful for better kidney functioning.

  • In chronic fever - taking 10-15 ml of decoction once a day is beneficial.
