Home Remedies of Bilva
To manage diabetes and reduce excess urination consume 20ml juice extracted from bilva leaves.
Hypertension can be reduced by boiling a cup of water mixed with 1 teaspoon of dried bilva leaves, cooling and straining the solution, and consuming it three times a day.
Eating a combination of ripe bilva fruit pulp, sugar and honey (shahad) regularly after dinner for 40 days is useful in the early stages of tuberculosis.
To increase the appetite, take a teaspoon of dried and powdered bilva leaves for 3 days the result can be seen.
For elimination of intestinal worms take 5 grams of the dried and powdered pulp of the bilva fruit 2 times a day.
To heal hemorrhoids, crush an unripe bilva fruit along with 1 teaspoon each of dried ginger and fennel. Soak this mixture in four cups of water and drink 3 to 4 times a day.
Consuming a cup of ripe bilva fruit mixed with jaggery once a day for 2 to 3 months will heal constipation and indigestion. (can take almost 70 grams a day)
To get relief from spasms caused by irritable bowel syndrome, take a teaspoon of dried and powdered ripe bilva fruit pulp mixed in a glass of buttermilk or warm water 2 times a day.
When dealing with chronic diarrhea, dry the slices of an unripe bilva fruit in sun and grind them. Take a teaspoon of this powder along with warm water 2 times a day.
To cure jaundice, add a pinch of black pepper to a teaspoon of crushed bilva leaves and consume this mixture. Finally, drink a cup of buttermilk. Follow this 3 times a day.
Bilva benefits in healing stomach and mouth ulcers. For this
one has to consume a mixture of a cup of bilva fruit pulp and a teaspoon of sugar in the morning on an empty stomach for 3 days.
To reduce peptic ulcers, soak a couple of bilva leaves in a cup of water overnight and drink this solution early in the morning for a few weeks.
To reduce nausea, vomiting and headache during summer, roast a handful of bilva leaves in a mud pot, add a cup of water to it and let the mixture boil and strain the solution and consume it.
To cure asthma, eat a bilva leaf along with 3 to 4 black peppercorns and later drink a cup of warm milk. Follow this for at least 1 month.
Heat sesame oil mixed with black pepper, black cumin and juice extracted from bilva leaves. When it is bearably warm, massage it on your head to get relief from cough and cold.
When suffering from malaria, extract some juice of bilva leaves and flowers and mix 1 teaspoon of both these juices with 1 teaspoon of honey and take 2 times a day as a home medicine.
