Home Remedies of Badam (Almond)

  • For asthma, whooping cough and bronchitis, mix 10 to 15 drops of ginger juice, lemon juice, 1 spoonful of badam oil and take this 1 or 2 times a day based on severity.

  • For pregnant women, take almond nuts soak them in milk and add a pinch of saffron. Consume this mixture every day, it nourishes both mother and child.

  • For muscular sprains, take an equal quantity of badam oil and garlic oil. Apply it to the painful area for quick relief.

  • To cure eczema, take wild badam leaf, make a paste of it and apply it to the affected area.

  • To improve concentration, soak a handful of badam in water overnight, next morning peel off the brown skin, and then consume them on an empty stomach.

  • When dealing with angina, combine 2 teaspoons of badam oil and 1 teaspoon of rose oil and rub gently on the chest.

  • To deal with anemia, soak 8 to 10 badams in water for 2 hours. Then remove the skin and grind them to paste. Eat this daily for about 3 months.

  • To treat nervousness and anxiety, soak 10 badams in water overnight. Later remove the skin and grind them to paste. Add 1 teaspoon of Nutmeg (jayaphal) and a pinch of dry ginger (sonth) powder and consume it.

  • To remove suntan, mix 1/2 teaspoon of badam oil, 1 teaspoon each of lemon juice, milk powder and Honey (shahad). Apply this over the skin.

  • To reduce dark circles, massage the area under the eyes with badam oil for at least 2 weeks.

  • To prevent hair fall, massage the scalp with badam oil.

  • For stimulating digestion, consume 2 teaspoons of sweet badam oil ones in a day for more than a week.

  • Ash of Almond’s shell is beneficial to make manjan, and it acts as gum tonic to give strength to them.

  • Rogan badam oil application on lips is beneficial to crack and chapped lips in winters.

  • In paralysis, almond milk in the morning taken with ashwagandha or Bala is very helpful as a musculoskeletal tonic.

  • Make halwa from the powder of almond, walnut, cashew, and flour of ragi, it acts as a weight gainer in mal-nourished and under-nutrition patients as well as children.

  • Almond oil is also useful in the local application in a chronic fissure.


  • Considerations while consuming Almonds

  • Almond is a high-calory nut, so usage of this in daily routine is done very sensibly for patients with obesity and digestive disorders.

  • Almond also has hot potency, so in bleeding disorders like epistaxis and bleeding per rectum.

  • Bitter almonds have hydrocyanic acid and have poisonous effects.
