Take a teaspoon of Sugar (cheenee) and suck the sweetness slowly without chewing it.
Mix a teaspoon of salt in one cup of Yogurt. Stir it until the salt completely dissolves and then take this mixture to stop hiccups.
If hiccups occur due to spicy food then drink a glassful of water.
Boil one and a half cup of water and add a teaspoon of freshly ground Cardamom (elaichi) powder in it. Cool the solution and filter it. Drink this liquid, which helps to stop hiccups.
Close your ears by placing your finger. This will block the airway and helps to stop hiccups.
Take a small piece of fresh Ginger (adarak) and peel it. Then chew on it slowly to get rid of your hiccups.
Hiccups can be stopped by gargling with water.
Continuous hiccups can be stopped by eating a spoon of peanut butter.
Mix 1/2 teaspoon of Mustard seeds with 1/2 teaspoon of pure Ghee and swallow the mixture.
Draw a deep breath in and hold it as long as you can. Then exhale it slowly and repeat this for few times.
To stop hiccups one can hold their left arm up for some time.
