What is Gout?

A condition in which defective metabolism of uric acid causes arthritis, especially in feet.

Causes of Gout

  • Excessive consumption of seafood and meat.

  • Family history.

  • Obesity.

  • Alcoholic beverages.

  • Heart and/or kidney diseases


  • Symptoms of Gout

  • Pain.

  • Swelling.

  • Redness.

  • Heat.

  • Stiffness in joints.

  • Fingers.

  • Nodules in fingers are called tophi.


  • Home Remedies For Gout

  • Take two tablespoons of Apple cider vinegar mixed with two tablespoons of Honey (shahad) and take it two times a day.

  • Often consume cherries or cherry juice.

  • Apply ice packs on the inflamed swollen joints for 10 to 15 minutes.

  • Dissolve Baking soda in water and consume it.

  • Take 1/2 glass of water and dissolve 1/2 Lemon in it. Drink it twice a day.

  • Prepare juice of Carrot, Cucumber, and Beetroot and consume it.

  • Apply paste prepared from Wheat flour (atta) and powdered Mustard (sarson).

  • Apply the paste of Ginger (adrak) on the affected area.

  • Take licorice root, make a coarse powder, make a decoction of it, take twice a day, helps in pain and swelling.

  • Take bark of pipal (ficus religiosa), dry in shade, make a powder, take it with honey twice a day.

  • Take Giloy(Tinospora cordifolia) juice empty stomach in the morning is also beneficial.


  • Food and Regimen For Gout

  • Consume 2 to 3 Apples every day regularly.

  • Take Coffee at a moderate level and as medicine useful in gout.

  • Avoid taking legumes, meat, eggs, and other seafood.

  • Take physiotherapy for bone impairment and other movement issues.
