Home remedies for increasing appetite in kids

  • Take 1 to 2 tablespoons of Coriander (dhaniya) leaves juice and give it to the child.

  • Mix sweet Pomegranate juice 100 grams, Apple juice 250 grams, Lemon Juice 250 grams, Mint leaves juice 250 grams, Natural Sugar 250 grams to make syrup and give it to the child.

  • Cut Orange slices and sprinkle dried ginger (adrak) powder and black salt (kala namak) over these slices. Give it to the child for about 1 week. Citrus fruits like lemon, orange, and others are helpful in digestion and appetite.

  • Mix Coriander (dhaniya) Seed powder 5 tablespoons, Black pepper (kali mirch) powder 2 tablespoons and Salt 2 teaspoons. Store it in a glass jar and give it 3 to 4 pinches with water after every meal.

  • Combine Carom Seeds (ajwain) and Dried Ginger Powder in equal quantity and soak it in Ginger juice. Dry it at room temperature, then grind and mix it with salt for taste. Give it 3 to 4 pinches with water twice a day. Chewing Ajwain seed with salt helps to increase appetite.

  • Blend Green Cardamom (elaichi) powder, Fennel Seed powder and Cumin (jeera) seeds powder in equal quantity and fry it for 10 to 15 seconds in a dry pan and keep it in a glass jar. Give 4 to 5 pinches with water after every meal. Funnel seed and elaichi helpes in increasing appetite and in digestion also.

  • Mix Mint leaves in Yogurt (dahi) and 2-3 pinches of black pepper (kali mirch) powder. Give it to the child daily with every meal. Yogurt with healthy probiotics and calcium is good for the appetite and immunity of the child.

  • Give Peach, Papaya and Jamun fruits regularly to the child.

  • Make breakfast is a compulsory meal for your children. Eating a good, healthy, and balanced breakfast is helpful in increasing your child’s appetite and boosts metabolism.

  • Incorporate Peanut into your child’s food in any form like peanut butter or fry it to be eaten like crisps. Peanut is called the king of nuts for its appetite-boosting and protein-building properties.


  • When your child is not hungry, offer sweetened fresh lemon water instead of plain water. Lemon improves digestion and appetite. Lemon is a natural appetite booster. You can also add it to salads and other foods regularly to improve the child’s appetite.

  • Take mint leaves, lemon juice, rock salt and sugar, and make a tasty drink to increases appetite.

  • Green gram (moong) is very light to digest, make most food preparations from it, that helps to increase appetite.

  • Make children in a more playful environment, physical extortion like dance or other joyful activities for easy digestion and appetite.

  • Allow children do swing, slide, other play, and wind of farm or garden/greeneries to make the peace of mind and appetite.

  • Betel leaves with gulkand (rose petals with treacle) are also helpful in increasing the appetite.

  • Pomegranate and amla juice or whole fruit also increase the appetite.

  • Rice gruel, rice with curd (fresh) is also helpful for appetite and light for the stomach.
